FURTHER NOTES ON NUTRITION FOR THE NEXT MONTH

-When should I eat?

Many people add fasting times to their life.

If you have gut issues then fasting helps to give your digestive system a rest and helps it heal.

Often I eat dinner and then fast till lunch time (12pm-2pm) the next day.

Some people prefer to fast their dinner, instead of breakfast.

This makes taking the potions easier, gives me time to cook and gives my digestive system and body a break for relaxing and healing.

In saying that - You can eat anytime you want…

Try to remove the current idea of breakfast, lunch and dinner for this next month.

Just listen to your body and eat when you are hungry, not because it’s a certain “meal” time.

-How can I make my food taste better?

Spices, fresh and dried herbs are highly recommended.

This keeps your meals a little more exciting and adds extra nutrients.

Adding lots of fresh herbs and sprouts to your salads is fantastic.

-Can I have salt?

Yes, salt is allowed!

Please only use a good quality salt. Celtic sea salt is my favourite. This usually has over eighty minerals.

Avoid processed salts like 'table salt' as they are highly processed, often bleached and only contains two minerals, Sodium and chloride.

-What can I drink?

Sorry no soft drinks or alcohol is advised.

Herbal tea is though! Feel free to make your own hot teas or herbal water for the fridge.

Coffee is allowed as mentioned and dandelion coffee or yerba mate are great alternatives/additions.

If you want to have kombucha, make sure its a traditional style of brew, not gassed/carbonated and doesn't have lots of processed sugar or flavourings.

Choose natural, real mineral water over carbonated/soda stream water if you want a fizzy drink.

If you need something else that resembles soft drink or alcohol- Fire/gypsy tonic (ACV) and lemon in water is great. It also helps digestion!

-What can I add to my  jug of water to make it more interesting?

Fresh cucumber, lemon or lime wheels, any fresh herb like mint, basil or lemon myrtle leaves, chia seeds, basil seeds, inner leaf of fresh aloe vera, frozen blueberries etc.
